On Monday, the Center Township Supervisors held both their reorganization and their regular meetings.
During the reorganization meeting, Dave “Butch” Smyers was re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and Matt Housholder was named the board vice-chairman.
In the regular meeting, the board gave final approval to the Center Township Parks ordinance, which puts in place rules for the parks in order to keep them nice and welcoming. Part of the ordinance includes setting park hours from dusk to dawn each day, prohibiting dirt bikes and fireworks and prohibiting excessively loud music. Smyers said the ordinance would allow State Police to enforce the rules.
Smyers also gave an update on the Coral Post Office construction. The paperwork is complete and the U.S. Postal Service will start paying rent to the Coral-Graceton Fire Department in March. Smyers is hopeful the building will be open in early Spring.
