Indiana Fire Association rescued some ducklings on Thursday.
In a report posted to the fire department’s Facebook page, officers-in-charge were dispatched to Clairvaux Drive in Indiana for the report of some ducklings caught in a storm drain and the mother duck running around frantically. Assistant chief Ron Moreau and Administrator Paul Koons called in Indiana Borough Public Works and White Township Road crews to assist. Four of the ducklings were rescued easily, but the fifth was hiding in a pipe that was three-quarters full. Using a bit of hose, Moreau flushed a nearby hydrant to increase the water flow slowly and the duckling was pushed gently into the opening and scooped up in a net.

The ducklings were returned to their mother and no injuries were reported.
The Indiana Fire Association thanked all who stopped by to help, including Township manager Chris Anderson and Indiana Borough mayor and Indiana Fire Association President Bill Simmons.
