Two local nonprofit organizations recently received donations from one of Pennsylvania’s leading retail electricity brands.
According to a news release, the United Way of Indiana County and the Purchase Line Red Dragon Foundation each received $5,000 from Dynergy, a subsidiary of Texas-based energy company Vistra, which powers more than 20 million homes across the U.S. The funds will be used for quote, “investing in Indiana County communities and assisting local residents.”
The United Way will use its portion of funds for education, health, and financial stability programs that help build a stronger community while supporting individuals, children, and families.
Meanwhile, the Red Dragon Foundation’s funds were allocated enhance technology and STEM-based initiatives. They will support students at the Purchase Line School District through post-secondary scholarships, enhancements to classroom technology, and extracurricular activities.
