As 2021 gets underway, many people remain optimistic that this year will be better than 2020. Two of those people are Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi.
Both were re-elected to their positions in 2020 and both share similar goals for the upcoming year. Pittman said his main focuses for 2021 include the public comment period for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, or RGGI, and election reform. In an interview, he said that a uniform election process was not incorporated across the state and needs re-evaluated.
But despite the issues carrying over from 2020, Pittman remains optimistic that 2021 could be a bounce-back year.
State Representative Struzzi shared Pittman’s thoughts on the urgency of RGGI and election reform, and he also plans on focusing on mental health, which has become a topic of discussion during the course of the pandemic.
Struzzi included that he wants to tackle tax structures from both property and business standpoints, and he plans on re-introducing Cody’s Law and House Resolution 268, both of which failed to reach legislation last year.
