At a meeting Wednesday morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved a grant funding application that will go towards a project at Jimmy Stewart Airport.
The resolution came from the county Office of Planning and Development on behalf of and in collaboration with the Indiana County Airport Authority. The application is for the Commonwealth Financing Authority Multimodal Transportation Fund grant of up to $2 million. It would be used for the design, bidding and construction of a proposed 12,000 square-foot corporate hangar facility at the airport, along with related site improvements. Planning and Development Executive Director Byron Stauffer talked about the importance of this project for the airport.
In other business, the county approved two contracts related to the Route 119 Business Park site improvements project. One was for meter skid construction and installation by Toy Pipeline Construction, and the installation of over 4500 feet of steel gas pipeline to interconnect with the People’s Gas Line by Shadco, LLC. The projects are being funded with Pipeline Investment Program Grant Funds and Air Liquide.
