Both state police and Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. say there does not appear to be foul play involved in the death of a 68-year-old Saltsburg man whose body was found yesterday in a wooded area about a quarter-mile off Route 286 in Conemaugh Township.
The body of 68-year-old Edward James Jones of Nowrytown Road was discovered by state troopers searching the woods just outside of Saltsburg. He had last been seen by his wife on Saturday morning, and she called 911 at 7:13 yesterday morning.
Coroner Overman pronounced Jones dead at the scene at 10:24 yesterday morning. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. He says there were no suspicious circumstances.
