As Covid-19 cases continue to dominate the state’s health landscape, the current flu season is not even enough to merit a listing on the state’s flu-tracking website.
Despite there being 767 lab-confirmed cases of flu reported since the season started at the end of September, the Department of Health says the total is so low that to report it county-by-county would fail to protect the confidentiality of patient information. Therefore, no county data exists even though flu has been detected in 49 of the 67 counties in the state.
There have been 17 hospitalizations and six deaths from flu since the start of the season. There were about 120 cases reported in the week ending December 19th.
