The Steelers yesterday activated linebacker Vince Williams from the reserve/covid-19 list, but they added defensive end Stephon Tuitt to the injury list.
Williams has missed two games and did report experiencing mild symptoms. Tuitt missed practice with a back injury. Tight end Eric Ebron also was out with a back injury. Linebacker Ola Adeniyi was out with a shoulder injury, and fellow linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III sat out with an ankle injury. Linebacker Marcus Allen was sidelined yesterday after suffering a stinger on Monday night against Cincinnati.
Running back James Conner and guard Kevin Dotson returned to practice and were full participants.
The Steelers added tight end Kevin Rader to their practice squad and released long snapper Christian Kuntz from the practice squad. Rader was released prior to Monday’s game to make room for guard Danny Isidora, who had been signed from the Chiefs’ practice squad.
In his weekly media event, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said the Steelers need to start making big plays at key moments in games, as they did earlier this season.
Big Ben said questions about his ability and decision-making in games during the Steelers’ three-game losing streak are understandable.
JuJu Smith-Schuster said yesterday that he is going to stop his pregame Tik Tok dances on other teams’ logos. After having a talk with coach Mike Tomlin, Smith-Schuster said the dances were becoming a distraction and he regretted that his coaches and teammates were having to answer questions about them.
