Indiana County first responders were active on Tuesday.
Indiana Fire Companies 4 and 1 were called to an automatic fire alarm activation in Armstrong County on Route 156. The call was reported at 3:05 PM, according to Indiana County 911. However, Indiana’s response was called off en route.
Two vehicle accidents were reported Tuesday evening. The first was for a crash on Indian Springs Road in White Township at 4:26 PM. Indiana fire association was dispatched, along with State Police and Citizens Ambulance. Indiana Fire Association assistant chief Ron Moreau said that the crash happened near the entrance to the former Ponderosa Restaurant and two vehicles were involved. One person was taken to IRMC for treatment of injuries.
The second accident was reported at 5:14 PM by Indiana County 911 on Route 22 East in Blairsville Borough. Blairsville and Blacklick fire departments along with Blairsville Police and Citizens Ambulance were called to the scene. Blairsville fire department representatives say that the crash happened at the intersection of 22 and Dixon Street as a vehicle tried to make a turn across traffic. While both cars took on mild to moderate damage, no one was hurt.
