Firefighters from Marion Center, Plumville, Creekside, and Clymer were summoned to a house fire along Route 119 North last night in East Mahoning Township, and their quick action saved the home.
The 911 dispatch came at 9:06 PM for the white frame house near Olson Road. Marion Center firefighters report on Facebook that their chief arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire on the second floor. An entry crew went in and within 10 minutes the interior crew had knocked it down with about 750 gallons of water.
Everyone got out safely and there was significant smoke and water damage, but a lot of the damage is salvageable. Firefighters cleared the scene within three hours.
The residents were not identified.
