UPDATE: State police have provided another picture of Michael A. Whitfield.
Police say he has an address in Greensburg, but a search of his home was unsuccessful. He is wanted by Greensburg Police on a warrant for a stolen car from the day before the carjacking.
A $2000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911 or State Police in Indiana at 724-357-1960.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
State police are still on the lookout for a man who went on a crime spree starting in Blairsville yesterday morning.
Troopers say that tips from the public identified the suspect as Michael A. Whitfield. His age and where he is from was not released. Police say that around 6:00 Wednesday morning, he attacked a 60-year-old woman and stole her car at Keeper of the Flame in Blairsville. The woman is in stable condition at a hospital in Allegheny County after being treated for lacerations. After taking her car, he drove on 217 but then abandoned the car in Derry, then tried to Break into Mug’s Tavern and Lee’s Ice Cream. After failing on both attempts, Bronson-Whitfield broke into a Kettle Dad BBQ food truck and took some unknown items. Trooper Tristian Tappe then said that he took another vehicle.
The truck had the keys left in it. The truck had a PA License Plate with the number XLE-1209.
Bronson-Whitfield is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911.
