IUP Students have stepped up to the plate and delivered in a big way in a fundraising challenge for IUP.
This fundraising challenge is part of the university’s annual Family Drive, and the challenge was set by IUP alum from the class of 1961, Terry Serafini. He challenged that if 100 students from each grade level made an investment in the IUP community, he would respond with a $10,000 donation towards the yet-to-be-developed Grant Street Park corridor, which will run from 11th street to Pratt drive. In a recent news release, IUP announced that that goal has been surpassed prior to the end of the Family Drive, as 550 current students have made gifts to different areas of IUP. They are still short of their goal of 800 donors, but the drive ends on April 20th.
The Family Drive supports scholarship efforts at IUP, with students using the funds from the drive for tuition, books and other learning experiences.
