State police report two incidents in Burrell Township.
The first was a domestic incident that occurred on Sunday night at an apartment on Susan Drive.
State police say 38-year-old Barbara Lynn Chigas of Indiana and a male victim were involved in a physical confrontation during which she punched him in the face, causing swelling to his left cheek bone. Police describe the man as her “recent ex-husband”.
Chigas was taken into custody and arraigned yesterday before District Judge Guy Haberl on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and harassment. She is being held at the Indiana County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
The second police report is a possible drug incident. Drug charges are pending against a 30-year-old Black Lick man who had drug paraphernalia on him when he was encountered by emergency medical personnel on a call to a home on Laney Street yesterday afternoon. Police do not identify the suspect.
