Altoona Curve’s starting pitcher Aaron Shortridge pitched his longest game yet, and helped the Curve hold off the Erie Seawolves 8-7 at PNG Field last night.
While Shortridge gave up two runs in the first, he limited the Sewolves to just one hit in the next six innings. He went seven innings and notched five strikeouts to pick up the win.
Shortridge did get a lot of support from the offense, as they strung together 17 hits, including one triple and six doubles. Matt Gorski’s RBI-streak continued with an RBI-single in the sixth inning, marking his fifth-consecutive game with an RBI, a season-long streak for a Curve batter.
The two teams will play tonight. Omar Cruz will start for the Curve against Erie’s Lael Lockhart.
