The Penns Manor School Board will meet tonight and will look at increasing the pay for substitute teachers in the district.
On the tentative agenda for tonight’s meeting is a motion to approve raising the per-day rate for day-to-day substitute teachers to $100 a day. Along with that, the day-to-day subs will be paid a bonus rate per day based on when on the school calendar they work. Those bonuses range from $15 to $35. Another motion would make that new pay rate retroactive to the start of the school year on August 24th for any substitute teacher that would meet eligibility requirements.
The board will also look at a revision of the district’s health and safety plan to include the requirements from the attestation form that the district signed and submitted to the PA Department of Health to allow them to continue with in-person instruction, and authorizes the administration to submit subsequent attestations that may be required through subsequent revisions to the program.
Also, the board will look at approving a contract with Redrock Fence Company to repair the elementary basketball court fence that was damaged in a recent vehicle accident on Route 553. The cost of the project is $1,540.
The meeting will be held virtually tonight starting at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on the district’s YouTube page.
