Indiana Regional Medical Center and IUP have both released statements concerning parking in their lots for the 4th of July fireworks tonight.
IRMC is reminding people driving to the fireworks shows that parking or watching fireworks from their lots is prohibited. This includes any IRMC-Affiliated buildings and lots.
IUP has announced that in line with previous years, IUP will not restrict access to the Wayne Avenue, Stadium North and Stadium South parking lots during the independence day celebration, but parking access will be restricted to the South Campus Parking lots near the softball and baseball fields, and there will be no parking allowed in the KCAC’s VIP Parking lot in front of the facility. University Drive on South Campus will be temporarily closed to through traffic from 7:30 to 11:00 tonight.
IUP facilities will be closed today, and lot use should be for parking only. That means long-term tailgating, tents and grills are not allowed. Also, reserved spaces, like handicapped spots, loading and unloading zones, and other spaces will remain strictly enforced. Vehicles in violation may be towed at the owner’s expense.
