At Monday’s meeting, the Homer City Borough Council approved measures connected with the upcoming paving project on Lincoln Street.
The borough is approving a Keystone Communities Grant for $150,000, but to get the money, the borough will have to spend the money on the project. The borough will need to borrow the money for the project to pay the contractor, so they also approved applying for a short-term loan from S&T Bank. The borough will then pay the contractor with the money from the loan, and the money from the grant will be used to pay off the loan.
In other business, borough manager Robert Nymick addressed a lot of PA One-Call requests that have been made. He said that this is not a borough-related project.
No firm date has been announced for the start of the gas line replacement, but as soon as the borough knows, officials will notify the community.
