A great pitching matchup last night at First Commonwealth Bank Field as Homer City Post 493 edged the Unity Bulldogs, 2-1. Homer City pushed across two unearned runs in the second thanks to an error and an Adam Cowburn single. Kadin Homer started and threw three no-hit, no-run innings, striking out three and walking four. Braden Dunn took over in the fourth and finished up the game giving up a run on three hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Josh Vacha was solid for Unity, with five-and-a-third innings of one-hit baseball. Homer City coaxed seven walks out of Unity pitchers in the game.
Post 493 will play a home doubleheader today, at 6 o’clock against Hempfield and at 8:15 against Blairsville.
