On Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors approved an extension for the township’s stewardship committee.
The goal of the committee is to update the stewardship plan for the township, which will be used as a guide for the oversight and protection of White’s Woods Nature Center and other township properties. But the group was given a deadline of 18 months, and that deadline was coming up at the end of this month. Township Manager Chris Anderson talks about why the extension was needed.
The extension will take the committee’s work to the end of the year.
In other business, the supervisors approved a request for $35,000 to the Indiana Fire Association for the purchase of a new pickup truck. The money for the donation will come from the township’s American Rescue Plan funds.
