The average cost of gas in Pennsylvania did go up over the last week.
According to Triple-A, the current average cost of a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.52 a gallon, which represents a seven-cent increase over the last week and an eight-cent increase over the last month. However, gas prices are still lower than where they were last year at this time, when they were at $2.79 a gallon. The national average is at $2.12 a gallon, which is two cents higher than last week, but two cents cheaper than last month.
Indiana County’s average remains at $2.59 a gallon. Gas prices in Indiana Borough, White Township, Clymer Borough, Blairsville Borough and Burrell Township are at $2.65 a gallon, while in Homer City, gas prices are five cents cheaper at $2.59 a gallon.
The lowest gas price average in our region is Westmoreland County at $2.49 a gallon. Armstrong county is next highest at $2.54 a gallon. Jefferson County’s average is $2.56 a gallon, Clearfield County is $2.58 a gallon, and Cambria County having the highest gas price average in the region at $2.60.
Warren and Forest Counties currently have the highest averages at $2.65 a gallon, while Wyoming County in the North-East area of the state has the lowest average at $2.31 a gallon.
