Clemson man-handled Pitt yesterday, jumping to a 31-0 lead after just one quarter and winning the game, 52-17. Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett threw three first-quarter interceptions and Clemson picked him off four times in all, while the Tigers’ Trevor Lawrence threw for 403 yards and two touchdowns in three quarters of play.
Penn State collected its first win of the season, beating Michigan in Ann Arbor, 27-17.
BASKETBALL
The Pitt basketball team rebounded from its season-opening loss to Saint Francis with an 83-74 win over Drexel. Junior Xavier Johnson scored a game-high 27 points.
