It was a relatively calm day for Indiana County first responders, even as strong thunderstorms came through the county Sunday night.
No emergency calls were made during the height of the storms yesterday but there were three reports of utility lines down throughout the day. The first was at 6:38 AM along Route 403 South in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh/East Wheatfield fire department was called to the scene. The second was at 2:53 in Washington Township along Spence Road. Creekside Fire department was called to the scene at the time. The final call was at 11:46 PM along Chestnut Ridge Road in Burrell Township. Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were called at that time.
There was also a vehicle accident reported on Cherry Street in Cherry Tree Borough. Cherry tree fire crews, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance were called out at 11:13 AM. State police have not released the details on the crash.
