The Marion Center School Board last night voted to have the elementary schools switch to a remote learning model starting the day after Thanksgiving break is over.
During its meeting, the board voted to move the elementary school to the remote learning track. That means that starting December 1st, the entire district will be in a remote learning format. Superintendent Clint Weimer said it was due to the continued spike in Coronavirus that the area is seeing.
There is no estimate available for when students will be able to return to face-to-face or hybrid instruction.
In other business, the board accepted with regret the retirement notices of science teacher Thomas Betts and social studies teacher Glenda Cribbs. The two had a combined 60-plus years of service to the district.
