A new group dedicated to getting information out in emergency situations announced that their website has gone live with information on the Coronavirus pandemic in Indiana County.
The group is called Indiana County REACH, which stands for Resources, Education, Announcements, Communication and Help, and according to a news release, the group’s concept was inspired by the Covid-19 Recovery Task Force spearheaded by the county commissioners. REACH is made up of people representing many different areas of the county, along with the ARIN Intermediate Unit; IUP; IRMC; borough and township governments; the County Chamber of Commerce; the county offices for emergency management, human services, planning and economic development; the Tourist Bureau; Westmoreland County Community College; the YMCA, and federal, state and county officials.
The first issue the group will deal with is disseminating information on the Coronavirus pandemic, and their website, www.indianacountypaREACH.org, has information on the county’s positivity rate, local statistics, risk factor information, prevention measures and testing site locations within the county.
