With the IUPattys celebration planned for next weekend, the Indiana community is in preparation mode.
The Indiana Area Collaborative Team – known as “I-ACT” – will host an all-stakeholders meeting at 2:30 on Monday afternoon at the Kovalchick Complex PNC Room. The meeting is open to the community, but RSVPs are required.
In a news release, I-ACT says the focus of the meeting will be “spring high-celebratory events”, including the strategies planned by enforcement agencies and the new student-led initiative “IUPLeads”.
I-ACT members involved in the meeting will include representatives from IUP; Indiana Borough; White Township; the county commissioners; IRMC, Citizens Ambulance, and emergency management; a broad assortment of law enforcement agencies; community landlords; and various business entities.
To RSVP to co-chair Robin Gorman, call 357-2232 or email rgorman@iup.edu.
And with perfect timing for IUPattys celebrants, state police from the Indiana barracks have announced a sobriety checkpoint for next weekend. They do not disclose the road on which they will be set up, but do advise that there will also be roving enforcement details going on throughout the month.
