The first of three in-person meetings for Indiana County residents to learn about the new Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) will be held this evening.
The SALDO was passed by the Indiana County Commissioners in April and it replaces the previous subdivision ordinance amended in 1990. SALDO impacts land development in all but six municipalities in Indiana County, those being Indiana Borough; White, Burrell, and East Wheatfield Townships; Homer City; and Blairsville.
Josh Krug with the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development said the reason for that is because those are covered under their own land ordinances.
Committee member Josie Cunningham adds SALDO will help prepare for long-term development.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 5:30 and will be held at the Coral-Graceton Fire Hall. Two more in-person meetings are also scheduled. One will be at Marion Center Park on July 3rd, while the second will be held at the Saltsburg Borough Office on July 11th.
Virtual meetings will also be held July 10th at 1:30 and 6 p.m. Those are available via Zoom Video Chat. A link can be found below:
