The Coronavirus and the recent uptick in cases was on the minds of Indiana Borough Council members during their meeting last night.
The members discussed the upcoming “It’s A Wonderful Life Festival” scheduled for the holiday season at IRMC Park. While there will not be a parade or light up night this year, activities are set to start the weekend of November 28th and running each weekend through the holidays. Councilman Ben Ford said that Downtown Indiana is taking Covid-19 into consideration when planning the activities for this year.
In connection with the It’s A Wonderful Life Festival, 7th Street will close on November 23rd for the installation of the large Christmas Tree.
Indiana Borough Manager C. Michael Foote announced that the Together Indiana campaign will come to an end at the end of the month. Foote said that this was part of the original plan.
There’s no word yet if the program will be re-started after the holidays.
Finally, Indiana Mayor George Hood made an official proclamation designating November 17th to December 24th as Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Days in Indiana Borough in recognition for its work to help those in need in the borough.
