A two-day negotiation session between the State System of Higher Education and the union representing its teachers wrapped up yesterday.
While no agreement has been reached between the two sides, negotiation teams did discuss assistant chairs, evaluations, extraordinary service and consolidation issues. The current four-year agreement expires at the end of the month. Another two-day negotiation session is scheduled for June 21st and 22nd, and more information will be released by both sides when that session wraps up.
Both sides also jointly announced that more sessions are in the works for July and August. The current teachers’ contract will remain in effect until the new agreement is reached. Negotiators have not set a date by which they plan to complete contract talks.
Meanwhile the coaches’ contract between PASSHE and APSCUF will have a two-day negotiation session in mid-July. Their contract also expires at the end of the month.
