One of Clymer Borough’s most recognizable businesses is closing its doors. Mary Beth Marcoline has decided to “move on from the pharmacy business” and will be closing Scerbo’s Pharmacy next Monday, November 23. The business at 530 Franklin Street was started by her father, Frank T. Scerbo, 68 years ago, in July of 1952.
In a letter announcing the closure, Marcoline writes that the decision came after long and careful thought. She says she still wholeheartedly enjoys serving her community and expresses her “deepest gratitude to her loyal customer base.” She also sends her sincere appreciation to her current and former employees.
The pharmacy files of Scerbo’s Pharmacy will be transferred to the Rite Aid pharmacy at 4th and Philadelphia streets in Indiana. Marcoline says she has “utmost confidence” in their service.
Patients are encouraged to call Scerbo’s Pharmacy at 724-254-4363 if they have questions or concerns.
