Emergency crews had to respond to many storm-related calls Sunday afternoon and evening.
Crews responded to 24 storm-related calls during the afternoon and evening hours, with the first call reported at 3:22 PM in Washington Township and the last coming close to 4:00 this morning. Sixteen of those calls involved power lines either hanging low or down, and there were also a handful of reports where a tree had knocked down the power lines or was blocking the road. One transformer fire was reported in Green Township on Route 403 at 10:25 PM. Clymer Fire Department was on-scene for that.
A vehicle accident was reported on Fulton Run Road in White Township. Indiana Fire Association members, Citizen’s Ambulance and state police were dispatched for that call.
Yesterday’s storms had wind gusts of 40-50 miles an hour reported, which triggered high wind and severe thunderstorm watches and warnings in our area. It looks like things will be calmer, but colder today.
