In a matchup of two former college football powers, Penn State lost to Nebraska, 30-23. It was the Nittany Lions’ fourth straight loss to start the season, while the Cornhuskers earned their first win.
Penn State fell behind, 27-6, at the half, and the deficit was too much for quarterback Will Levis and his teammates to surmount. Levis replaced an ineffective Sean Clifford for Penn State in the first half.
