MLB
It was a groundbreaking day in Major League Baseball yesterday as the Miami Marlins announced the hiring of Kim Ng as their new general manager. Ng, 51, is now baseball’s first female GM in history. She previously worked with the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers as their assistant general manager.
In her time with both, they’ve made the playoffs a combined eight times and won three World Series championships.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
As announced earlier this week, the game between Pitt and Georgia Tech originally scheduled for today has been postponed until Dec. 12. This was the ninth game to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first in ACC play this week.
Penn State looks for its first win this week as they matchup with 0-2 Nebraska in Big 10 conference play. This is the first game after Journey Brown announced that he will no longer play football, citing prior health conditions. Sophomore Devyn Ford is slated as the team’s next halfback, and will most likely start in today’s game. Kickoff is set for noon.
