The 2023-24 budget was approved at Tuesday night’s United School Board meeting.
The budget comes to $23,566,761 in revenues and $23,485,841 in expenses, leaving a budget surplus of $80,920. Finance Committee Chair Hunter Overdorff said the district will receive additional basic and special education allocations from the state budget, and that turned the budget from worst-case scenario to best-case.
The board approved the budget by a 7-0 vote.
The board also unanimously approved a new collective bargaining agreement between the United School District and the United Education Support Professionals Association. The agreement will run four years starting July 1st of this year and under the agreement, salaries will increase a total of 4.9% over the duration of the agreement.
