When Indiana County Judge Thomas Bianco ruled on motions in the Justin Stevenson murder case several weeks ago, he stipulated that he would issue a separate ruling on who would be included in a gag order he’s imposed. That ruling has been issued, and the gag order prohibits virtually everyone involved from publicly discussing the case.
Specifically, Bianco has prohibited all parties involved, either directly or indirectly, from making statements that the individual knows or reasonably should know will be disseminated by public communication, including but not limited to any statements on social media.
Those named include all of the attorneys involved, the defendant, any law enforcement personnel and agents, and anyone affiliated with the District Attorney’s office, the victims’ family members, and any witness or potential witness who has been advised that he or she is likely to be called as a witness.
Stevenson and Nathan Price are accused of killing Timothy Gardner and Jacqueline Brink during a drug deal at the couple’s home in Cherryhill Township in October of 2016. A third suspect, Isaiah Scott, was originally charged as an adult, but his case was transferred to juvenile court.
Stevenson’s motions hearing was held on February 14th, and the judge ordered attorneys for both sides to submit briefs on a motion to suppress a search warrant for cell phone records. He will resume the hearing on March 14th.
