WHITE TOWNSHIP WALMART
State police say two Somerset County men have been charged with retail theft for a scheme to steal Xbox electronics yesterday afternoon.
Police say Anthony Cocco and Corey Heinrich, both of Windber, entered the store at about one o’clock, went to the electronics section, and placed several Xbox One external hard drives and chargers into their carts. Then they went to another aisle where they cut off the security devices, apparently with some scissors they were carrying, and then fled the store in an unknown direction.
The report does not indicate whether the two suspects are in custody.
There are two other theft reports from the White Township Walmart store over the weekend. On Friday night, state police say 30-year-old Rae Ann Livengood of Blairsville stole nineteen miscellaneous items with a total value of more than $260.
On Saturday afternoon, police say someone stole an Apple iPhone 7 from the shopping cart of an Indiana woman.
BRUSH VALLEY TOWNSHIP
A Brush Valley woman is the victim of an online theft. State police say 19-year-old Brandy Ryan of Round Top Road used a MoneyGram to pay $1,400 cash to purchase a horse, but she never got the animal. The investigation continues.
BURRELL TOWNSHIP
40-year-old Frank Kearns of Black Lick is facing drug possession charges after police were called on Saturday evening to a home on Main Street to assist paramedics with a patient who had been violent with them in the past. While there, they saw a small bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain view, and when they asked Kearns if there were any other illegal substance in the home, he handed them two large containers of marijuana.
INDIANA BOROUGH
Indiana Borough police took 22-year-old William Reed of Blairsville into custody yesterday afternoon in the 100 block of North 6th Street. Police say Reed had about a half-pound of marijuana, a large sum of money, and other items used in the sale of marijuana. He’s charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
And Indiana Borough police report that someone broke into the business at 808 Wayne Avenue overnight yesterday and took a 24-inch glass water pipe. The burglar broke a large window to get in. Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to call 349-2121.
