Indiana borough police have charged a Pittsburgh man with Public Drunkenness and retail theft. Police say at 1:33 this morning, they were called to the 700 block of Wayne Avenue. Upon arrival, 21-year-old Stephen Rippe of Pittsburgh was found to have stolen an item from a business in the area, and was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was placed under arrest, and was transported back to the Indiana Borough Police Department for processing, and then later released to IRMC for an un-releated reason.

State Police say that they have charged a Shelocta man with DUI. This happened around 2:23 in the morning on Friday at the intersection of Church and 9th Streets in Indiana Borough. Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle committing some traffic violations. The driver, who was not named by police, was taken into custody for DUI, Processed and later released, but the incident is still under investigation.

Another traffic stop on Friday turned into a Drug Bust. This was around 2:39 yesterday afternoon in the 1900 block of Merry Place in White Township. When the traffic stop was conducted, state troopers smelled marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed and that lead to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. Charges were subsequently filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.

State Police have charged a man with violating a protection from abuse order. Police say that the woman had an active PFA against Andrew Jacob Clark Sr. that was valid through August 14th of 2019, but yesterday, Clark called, texted and messaged the victim through facebook several times, which was in violation of the PFA.
