Today is Veteran’s Day. Originally set aside to celebrate the signing of the armistice to end World War I in 1918, it is now a day to thank all veterans for their service in our armed forces.
As today is a federal holiday, federal, state and local government offices are closed for today. This includes the Indiana County Courthouse and PennDOT Driver’s License Centers. State liquor stores that would normally be open on a Wednesday will be open today.
Many banks will be closed for the day today. Post offices will be closed for the day, and there will be no regular mail delivery. Packages being sent by UPS or Fed Ex will still be delivered.
