On Wednesday, Clymer Borough Council accepted with regret the resignation of Councilman Jeff Gromley.
Gromley said in his letter of resignation that he is leaving the post because work is forcing him to leave the borough. Borough manager Sonya Schrenkel said that Gromley would be missed on council.
Those interested in filling his seat on borough council are advised to send a letter of intent to the Clymer Borough Office at 470 Adam Street. Those letters will be considered at the June 21st Committee meetings, and Gromley’s replacement will be named at the next business meeting on July 5th.
In other business, borough council president Louis Tate said that he is encouraging citizens to pick up litter. He said that he has seen an increased amount of litter in the borough and that it would be appreciated if everyone did their part to clean up the garbage in the community.
