On Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council gave conditional approval for the development of a new Dunkin’ Donuts location.
The store will open at 680 Locust Street in Indiana Borough, at the former GetGo gas station site. The development of the new Dunkin’ location has been a long time coming, as borough council had rejected a previous request to set up shop at the intersection of 5th and Philadelphia Streets with problems with parking and traffic being the main concerns. Councilman Ben Ford said that approval of the store is pending a complete and approved zoning review, including a review of a traffic study for the area.
In other business, the council formally recognized the creation of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee for the “Tomorrow Together: Indiana 2030 Project”. Borough Manager Nicole Sipos said that the committee is made up of representatives of several different entities.
The first meeting of the committee will be held later this month.
