Community members are invited to join IUP students, teachers and faculty today for an open forum on the Diversity Action plan.
Feedback has been sought over the last few months for the draft version of the diversity action plan, and today is the last day that comments will be accepted on the plan.
The plan can be found at https://www.iup.edu/diversity-inclusion/action-plan/ and you can email them your comments by the end of the day by sending an email to diversity-inclusion@iup.edu, but today will also be a chance for people to talk with members of the IUP President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion. The group has been meeting with several university groups prior to today to discuss the diversity action plan.
The Commission was founded in October of 2016, with the goal of examining IUP’s diversity and inclusion practices and their impact, recommending a vision to demonstrate to embodying diversity and inclusion, and as part of their work, create a diversity action plan.
Today’s meeting starts at 7:00 PM in room 225 of the Humanities and Social Sciences building. Members of the IUP and Indiana Community are invited to attend.
