Criminal call hearings are set for today in Indiana County Court, including one for a man who faces charges in four separate cases in the court system.
Four criminal call hearings are scheduled today for 31-year-old Randy Maurice Criste-Troutman of Indiana. He is charged in the four cases with a combined three counts of aggravated harassment by a prisoner and one count of aggravated assault with the intent to cause bodily injury to designated individuals. Criste-Troutman was scheduled for jury selection in these four cases and a fifth where he faces charges of aggravated assault and aggravated harassment by a prisoner, but jury selections were moved to November 30th. Meanwhile, a criminal call for Criste-Troutman’s fifth case is scheduled for December 4th.
Also up for a criminal call hearing is 40-year-old Tobias Wright of Blairsville. He is charged in two cases with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct, with an extra charge of obstructing emergency services in an incident on June 16th of this year. Prior to his arrest, police issued warrants against Wright for a series of incidents. He called the state police barracks in Indiana 40 times and threatened several PSP employees. He was found by U.S. Marshals in Ohio and returned to Indiana County on June 20th. In July of this year, he pleaded guilty to two counts of violating a PFA agreement, while a third count was not prosecuted. He was ordered to serve six months of probation for each count, and the judge decided the probations would run consecutively.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are usually postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the Criminal Call phase.
