The Pirates kicked off a nine-game homestand with a come-from-behind win against NL Central rival St. Louis last night, beating the Cardinals, 7-5.

Prior to Friday’s game, the Pirates traded RHP Robert Stephenson to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for minor league infielder Alika Williams. Stephenson was 0-3 with a 5.14 ERA in 18 games this year. Williams was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.
To take Stephenson’s place on the main roster, INF Mark Mathias was recalled from Indianapolis. He did not play last night.

Former MLB pitcher Bartolo Colon officially retired from baseball on Friday at the age of 50. Colon debuted with Cleveland in 1997 and spent time with the Expos, Angels, White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees, Athletics, Mets, Braves, Twins, and Rangers. His career record is 247-188.
