Thanks to a collaboration with community colleges, more than 30 All-Pennsylvania Academic students attending state-owned universities will receive free tuition for the next school year.
Officials with the State System of Higher Education said in a statement that the program allows any student who earns an associate degree from a community college in Pennsylvania to transfer into a parallel program at any state-owned university with full junior standing. Additionally, students who transfer before completing their associate degree can use university credits towards earning an associate degree from the community college where they started.
Three students will transfer to IUP under this rule:
- Sydney Marie Hubbard, who is transferring from the Community College of Allegheny County.
- Maddison Tripp, who is transferring from Butler Community College.
- Paige Klinger, who is transferring from Westmoreland County Community College.
The program is also part of PASSHE’s emphasis on supporting community college students transferring into bachelor’s degree programs at state-owned universities.
