Today is a chance to break some Cabin Fever in the middle of winter as Downtown Indiana will host the S&T Bank Winter Warmup.
Everything gets underway at Noon today at IRMC Park in Downtown Indiana, with activities for everyone. Childrens activities and crafts from NewStory will be held at IRMC Park and music will be provided by Anthony Frazier from WCCS’s Acoustic Hour, and starting at 1:00, participants will start to sample some of the local restaurants in a “taste-and-tour” style format. Restaurants will have their best soups or chili, best hot appetizer and best wintery beverage or dessert ready to go, and those who go on the sampling tour will get to vote for the best in those three categories.
Linda Mitchell with Downtown Indiana said that the S&T Bank Winter Warmup is based off of prior winter festival ideas that have been done by Downtown Indiana in the past like the Fire and Ice festival.
The activities in IRMC Park are free, but to go on the tasting tour, it costs $15 a person. Children 10 and under will sample for free if accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Tickets will be on sale at IRMC park today to take part. The winners will be announced at 3:00 at IRMC Park.
