Injuries were reported in a crash involving a school bus Friday afternoon in Cherryhill Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Cherryhill and Pine Township fire departments, Citizens’ Ambulance, state police and Lifeflight to the area of Route 553 and Laurel Run Road around 5:02 p.m. for a crash involving a car and a Penns Manor school bus. Cherryhill Township crews were also called to set up a landing zone a short time later along North Harmony Road.
No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, however second assistant fire chief Junior Sabo said the bus driver and occupants in the second car were injured.
Both cars took on heavy damage and the school bus rolled into an embankment following the crash. Pine Township firefighters directed traffic while cleanup crews cleared the roadway.
Details on the cause of the crash have not been released.
