Six IUP student-athletes have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Track & Field Team. Hannah Miller, Hailey Dodson, Mitch Chunta, Justin Egizio, Dan Gibney, Jayden Thomas, and Trenton Jubin all move on to the Academic All-American ballot. The women’s Academic All-Americans will be announced June 28th and the men on the 29th.
IUP baseball star Markus Cestra has been named to his third all-region team, landing on the ABCA/Rawlings DII Atlantic Region second team. Cestra hit .286 with six home runs this season.
IUP’s Joanna Stralka is the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region Most Improved Senior after a season in which she was a combined 45-13 in singles and doubles. She was 17-0 playing number two singles.
IUP’s David Jacobs has been named the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year, after stepping up as interim head coach this season for Larry Peterson. He led IUP to a 14-10 overall record and a 6-0 PSAC mark.
