A package of bills meant to help consolidate government agencies that offer similar or duplicate services and eliminate obsolete programs could head to the floor of the state house soon.
A group of six republican lawmakers have introduced the package of bills to reduce the size of state government. At a media conference yesterday in Harrisburg, State Representative Cris Dush, who represents a portion of Indiana County along with Jefferson County, said he supported the program. He said that with the package of bills, those interested in finding out more about grant writing and regulations, they will not have to go to several different agencies to get the information they require.
The package of bills will head to the floor of the state house, but there’s no word yet on when that will happen.
