Switching up the normal practice schedule, the Steelers held a light, shortened workout yesterday and delayed it an hour as they opened preparations for Sunday’s game at Dallas.
Ben Roethliseberger and Maurkice Pouncey had their normal Wednesday off, as did offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski and nose tackle Tyson Alualu. Cornerback Mike Hilton, and defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs were limited, but Cam Heyward and Jordan Dangerfield were full participants.
The Steelers activated Wisniewski from the injured reserve list. He suffered a pectoral injury in the first game of the season. Linebacker Ulysees Gilbert was placed on IR with a back injury.
The Steelers are in the midst of a three-game stretch on the road, and Roethlisberger says while that’s tough and unusual, the team can’t let up.
Big Ben says the Dallas defense is tough and aggressive, both up front and in the secondary.
Roethlisberger says the last two games against Tennessee and Baltimore have been “draining”, but he expects to be ready to press the gas pedal on Sunday.
Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Tuitt had nine tackles, eight of them solo, including two sacks and three tackles for loss.
