Over half of Indiana County’s registered voters turned out Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2020 general election and based on those results, State Representative Jim Struzzi and State Senator Joe Pittman have been re-elected to represent the county once again.
According to unofficial results, Struzzi beat Democratic Challenger Denny Semsick by nearly a 4-1 ratio, with Struzzi earning 16,320 votes from yesterday’s election. Semsick received 4,337 votes. Struzzi said he was happy to be re-elected to a second term.
Pittman talked about what he wanted to focus on in the next four years he will serve as the 41st district in the PA Senate.
In Indiana County, Pittman had 24,148 votes compared to his challenger, Democrat Tony DeLoreto’s 5,639. Across the 41st State Senate district, Pittman’s lead was large with 70,896 votes compared to DeLoreto’s 14,526 votes with 70 percent of the precincts reporting.
In the 55th State House district race, Indiana County had one precinct in that race, with Republican Jason Silvis beating Democrat Joe Petrarca 188-119. Across the 55th, Silvis has 12,303 votes to Petrarca’s 9,858, with 64 percent of the votes in the district counted.
Jeff Pyle and Brian Smith ran unopposed in their elections for the 60th and 66th district state house seats respectively.
None of the totals have factored in the mail-in ballots, which are still in the process of being counted.
