Following day four of Steelers OTAs, newly-signed linebacker Markus Golden yesterday talked about joining a team and an organization he’s long admired, and about how comfortable he is in Pittsburgh. In fact, the 32-year-old’s position coach, Denzel Martin, was Golden’s college roommate when the two played together at Missouri.
Golden said he wanted to be drafted by the Steelers coming out of college, so he’s happy to finally come to Pittsburgh after two stints with the Cardinals, sandwiched around a couple of years with the Giants.
And he says he is ready to do whatever is asked of him.
Golden is a former teammate of All-Pro defensive end JJ Watt, and now he gets to play with JJ’s brother, All-Pro linebacker TJ Watt. He’s looking forward to it.
The Steelers will work out again today and tomorrow, and then for four days next week to conclude the OTAs.
